One of the major North American holiday is just about to come: Thanksgiving Day, falling this year on 27 November. Despite being identified as a typical Christian Protestant festivity, its parallels can be found in several cultures all around the world, for its staple meaning is to offer thanks to the God(s) for granting a good harvest.
Even if not as much as in the USA (where even chariots and parades are part of the holiday), also this year Rome will be celebrating the day together with her American visitors: special events and food menu will be set up all around the city. At the Museum’s cafeteria where Norman Rockwell’s works are currently on exhibit (Palazzo Sciarra, nearby Via del Corso), a the traditional roast turkey with chestnut stuffing and bilberry sauce and pumpkin pie will be available; Cinecittà World (the biggest amusement park dedicated to the Italian cinema industry) will offer special rates and programmes. And these are just to name a few! Ask Carlito Hotel & Hostel staff for the events full list!
