Rome’s aquarium, the biggest in Italy, one of the major in Europe, will be finally ready and open to public starting from June 2015.
The colossal structure lays entirely under the EUR lake, covering a surface of 16000 square meters. There will be two sections, one deputed to educational, research and scientific activities, while the other one to the observation of living fishes born in captivity. Mediterraneum – The Aquarium of Rome is a path-breaking structure of its kind as it counts on highly sophisticated technologies: among its most innovative features there are huge tanks where high-tech robot-fishes will be swimming. Everything will be admired from transparent acrylic tunnels recreating the experience of a total immersion into the abyss.
A 400 seats auditorium and special area for 3D shows will make of it a unique experience for both children and adults.
From Carlito Hotel & Hostel you can reach EUR area and the aquarium in 15 minutes metro journey: ask our staff for directions!
