The best of Steve McCurry’s works will be on exhibit in Rome until September 20th. More than one-hundred-fifty of his photographs are indeed on display in the brand new exposition venue of Teatro 1 inside Cinecittà film studios.
Among his works, not only those who made him gain the covers of the most important magazines in the world, but also a number of the most recent pictures which are the fruit of his ultimate inspiration “moving beyond the gaze, through doors and windows to describe space and light, to overcome pain and fear”, using the words of the exhibit curator.
Steve McCurry, whose most iconic image is probably the green eyed Afghan girl’s portrait taken in Peshawar (1985), travelled far and wide from Myanmar, Afghanistan and Cambodia to Japan, Brazil, Ethiopia and Italy, recording places and people with vivid sensitivity.
To visit “Steve McCurry. Beyond the Gaze” just catch metro line A and get off at Cinecittà stop. The exhibit is open from 9:30 am to 7pm every day but Tuesdays. Our staff at Carlito Hotel & Hostel will be glad to provide you with more info!
